Veronica Carranza

Hello everyone, my name is Veronica, and I am the owner of My Escuela Bilingual Preschool. I studied advertisement and have a masters in Marketing. Two years after graduating and working in the marketing field, I decided to do what I was overly passionate about; be with kids. In the beginning, I didn’t know what route to take, but I did know that I wanted to share with them. Share memories, experiences, love, and knowledge. I decided to go back to school to study Early Childhood Education. I started with summer camps and workshops in my home country for kids in pre-k to kindergarten, which allowed my imagination to fly and allowed me to make different kid’s dreams into reality. A few years passed by and I came to the United States of America, where I doubled down on what I wanted to do; involve myself more in childhood. I opened a daycare and it deeply helped me to understand them more and live more beautiful memories. I learned how to communicate with them and analyze their evolution and development. During these years, I took many courses having to do with different fields in childhood, which helped me a lot. All this experience led me to understand that the best manner to reach children is to combine education, respect, creativity, and love. This has helped me go hand-in-hand and always possess good relationships with them. They know I am Vero and I can truly say that I have had a special relationship with every kid that has passed through My Escuela. I owe this to my consistent affection that has transformed not into a job, but rather into a passion that has helped me create, play, and enjoy with them for more than 20 years.

Ms. Maria, Director

My journey at My Escuela began in 2019 as the Sol Teacher, working with our curious 4-5-year-old learners. Over the past several years, I have grown alongside our amazing team, serving as the Site Supervisor in 2024 and stepping into the role of Director in 2025. I have worked with children since my teen years and have always known this was my true passion.

Academic Excellence

I am a proud alumna of Chabot College, where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I successfully completed my AA degree in December 2025, bringing the latest evidence-based practices in child development to our school.

Rooted in Alameda

Growing up in Alameda makes working in this beautiful city hit home for me. It is a true honor to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in my own community. I am constantly inspired by our students, who teach me something new every day—from the importance of patience to the power of unconditional love.

My Vision

As Director, I am dedicated to guiding our talented team to become even better educators. My goal is to ensure that our collective growth and passion are reflected in the joyful, bilingual learning environment we provide for every child at My Escuela.

Liduvina Torres

My name is Liduvina Torres, and all of my children know me lovingly as Miss Lidu. It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the Lead Teacher of the Luna Class here at My Escuela Bilingual Preschool.

I began my journey with My Escuela as the Lead Teacher of the Tierra Class, and I recently decided to take on the wonderful challenge of moving to the Luna Class. I am incredibly pleased and grateful to be part of the My Escuela family and to have the opportunity to play a role in your children’s educational growth.

I attended Cañada College, where I majored in Early Childhood Development, and I bring over 15 years of experience working specifically with the preschool age group—years I have genuinely enjoyed.

I love working with children and supporting their development and learning. I look forward to connecting with all of you and partnering together to support your children on their educational journey.

Emi Chavez . Tierra Class

It is such a joy to be the headteacher of the Tierra class at Escuela Bilingüe! My name is Ms. Emi Chavez, and I am so proud to be an early childhood teacher. There is nothing better than watching my students explore the world while I learn right alongside them. Seeing their progress every day is what truly makes me happy.

In my classroom, keeping my students safe and making learning fun are my top priorities. I’ve spent the last two years teaching infants and preschoolers, and I earned my early education credentials from Merritt College in Oakland. I love watching how independent they become and how they develop new skills every single day.

My philosophy is simple: I focus on each child’s specific learning needs. My goal is to provide a healthy, fun environment where every child feels secure, loved, and respected as they start their educational journey.

Brenda Hernández

Hi! My name is Brenda Hernandez, and I am a teacher in the Tierra Class. I am currently continuing my passion for teaching by studying Early Childhood Education at Merritt College in Oakland.

Although I have been working with children for about a year, this work has already become a true calling for me. I love seeing the spark of joy in a child’s eyes when they learn something new each day. My primary goal as an educator is to support that growth through fun and meaningful activities while providing the guidance and encouragement children need throughout their learning journey.

Every day, I strive to create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable, valued, and confident. I am honored to be a part of your child’s development and look forward to growing and learning together in the Tierra Class.
